Metfloor 55 Steel Decking

Metfloor 55 steel decking is a 55mm depth shallow traditional dovetail re-entrant composite floor deck profile made from S350 steel. Also known as a holorib type profile. It is ideal for relatively thin slabs down to 100mm whilst still maintaining an excellent fire performance.

Overview

The Metfloor product range and associated design software have been fully tested and developed with assistance from The Steel Construction Institute (SCI) and Imperial College London (ICL)

All Metfloor profiles, including the Metfloor 55, are manufactured from steel coil to BS EN 10143 and BS EN 10346, with guaranteed yield strength of 350N/mm2 and a total galvanising coating mass of 275G/m2 as standard. Additional coating masses are available upon request.

Advantages

    • The Metfloor 55 profile provides an excellent mechanical key into the concrete slab, offering a strong shear bond augmented by stiffeners located in the profile trough.

     

    • Ideal for relatively thin slabs down to 100mm, saving concrete and overall floor heights.

    • Available 0.9mm gauge, 1.0mm gauge & 1.2mm gauges

    • Unpropped decking spans in excess of 3.5m can be achieved

    • Offers a greater concrete mass, providing superior acoustic potential.

    • Available in a variety of enhanced coating systems for increases corrosion resistance.

    • Services are easy to attached to the underside of the profile, with the ribs presenting a dovetailed recessed groove in the concrete slab at 150mm centres. This provides the perfect connection for service hangar rods via a wedge nut which are also available from SWUK.
